About the Contest
This giveaway offers followers of Forgotten Forest the incredible opportunity to experience the Forgotten Forest world close-up and to receive a first-hand glimpse into the coffee-growing process, all while enjoying the beautiful central La Cordillera de Puerto Rico.
In addition, we hope to actively participate in (re)-defining what “the diaspora” means today, to better include both those currently living elsewhere and folks born and raised on the island.
So there will be a total of TWO winners for this giveaway, ONE winner currently living in Puerto Rico, and ONE winner living in the Continental U.S.
Submissions will be entered into a randomized raffle, so all submissions will be considered as viable entries to the giveaway.
Winners will be offered an all-inclusive 2-night stay at Centro Tanama, Forgotten Forest’s single estate coffee farm in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, transportation to and from the farm, and food & accomodations, including a fantastic farm tour, a visit to the nursery where we cultivate Typica 401, and more. The winner in the continental U.S. will receive airfare to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Your Diaspora Story
We are gathering stories from across the diverse Puerto Rican community to celebrate shared identity, reflect on our varied experiences, and connect people through collective storytelling about the dynamism of Puerto Rican culture.*
We are asking you to share a short 30-90 second video of yourself telling your diaspora story. You may be inspired by one of the following prompts:
Share an important and memorable experience that made you proud of your cultural heritage.
Share how you celebrate and preserve your cultural identity in your everyday life.
Share a recent moment that reminded you of your heritage.
Your story has the power to help connect us all near and far. At the same time, it’s nothing to stress about! All of our stories are beautiful and valid, so please feel free to share anything, from something as small as a childhood memory to a favorite food or cultural/family ritual to your own family’s heritage and journey — anything that connects you to your heritage.

*While we are based in and focussed on Puerto Rico, FF invites all members of the wider Caribbean diaspora to participate in this contest. We want to hear all your stories!
Terms & Conditions
The sole promoter and organizer of this giveaway is Forgotten Forest.
This giveaway runs until April 14, 2024, 12pm ET. All submissions must be received by the deadline to be considered.
This giveaway is open only to residents of the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Employees of the Organizer and their immediate family members are not eligible for the giveaway.
Entrants will have liked the indicated post on Forgotten Forest’s Instagram, tagged five friends, and submitted a 30-90 sec. video to the portal on this web page.
No purchase necessary.
Entrants must be over the age of 18.
All entrants will be entered into a randomized raffle that will determine winners. This is not a contest. All stories are accepted! While we are telling the story of the Puerto Rican and Caribbean diaspora, all submitted stories from all peoples and places will be considered for entry.
There will be TWO prize winners. ONE living in the continental US, and ONE living in Puerto Rico. The US Resident will receive round-trip airfare to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico as part of their prize. Both winners will receive at minimum transport to and from Centro Tanama, a two-night stay on the farm, a farm tour, a trip to the original Forgotten Forest nursery, along with all food.
Trips to the farm are to be scheduled around the end of May. Forgotten Forest will personally coordinate with the winners on scheduling, with some flexibility. Trips must take place in 2024.
